How the colours are worked out
The bands come from each place's own local hour, not from yours. Working hours default to 9 to 5 and you can change them on the dashboard — the setting is shared with the call-time strips on every city and converter page.
Every row is a real time zone from the IANA database, so a place that is mid-way through a daylight-saving change is drawn where it actually is, not where a fixed offset would put it.
